Primary Health Care Unit

Kuopio University Hospital District includes a primary health care unit which

• is in charge of preparing the arrangement plan of the area's health services
• promotes co-operation and work division between hospitals and health centers, and develops treatment and rehabilitation chains
• follows and assesses primary health care in the area and the development of its activities and structures
• co-ordinates research and development activity in the health centers
• co-ordinates health promotion in the area
• is a part of the national and international network for development, research and education in primary health care
• plans and develops the undergraduate and postgraduate training of physicians
