The Traumatology Emergency Department of Kuopio University Hospital attends to the treatment of acute musculoskeletal system injuries and diseases around the clock. Annually, the emergency department treats approximately 5,500 emergency patients, of whom approximately 1,500 require surgical treatment.
All musculoskeletal system injuries, including fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, joint inflammations and acute pain states of the musculoskeletal system are examined and treated at the traumatology ward, outpatient clinic, and operating room.
