Keitele

Patients need an appointment to see the doctor, nurse and community health nurse. During this visit, the nurse assesses the need for treatment. The health center has a call back system: leave a message and your contact details on the answering machine, and the nurse will call you back.
The health center provides emergency operations during office hours. Keitele and Pielavesi Health Centers operate doctor's emergency services for patients needing urgent care Mon–Fri 4 p.m.–8 p.m. and weekends 8 a.m.–6 p.m.:

Emergency services are at Kuopio University Hospital Mon–Fri 8 p.m.–8 a.m., Weekends 6 p.m.–8 a.m.
Patients needing short- and long-term care are treated on the inpatient ward. Services for patients needing short-term care are provided for the entire Nilakka area (Keitele, Pielavesi, Tervo, Vesanto). The ward has unlimited visiting hours.
Laboratory services and X-ray
Patients need a referral from a physician or nurse for laboratory examinations. If you have a Finnish Sickness Insurance (Kela/SII) card, this will speed up the process. You need an appointment for a radiographic examination. Radiographies and examinations performed based on a referral from a private practitioner are subject to a charge.
Oral health care
Dentist and dental hygienist services are available on weekdays by appointment. Customers can book an appointment at any of the oral health care service practices in Nilakka (Keitele, Pielavesi, Tervo, Vesanto) via the centralised appointment booking service. During weekends, emergency services are available at Kuopio.
